That is some crazy road laying out right there!!! Will probably never get to drive it either, shame.
I'm sure the people of Wisconsin who had a major bridge collapse during rush hour, or people in Florida who sat through a power outage this week would agree with you. Let's stop this insane spending on infastructure before things really get out of control!

America's VMT per capita has doubled since the 1960s alone. We would be better off if we had built fewer freeways and generated less sprawl. Then we would not need the freeway infrastructure that makes us waste our time traveling such long distances.
Yet we are still building more freeways, even where they are already grossly overbuilt, as this picture in San Antonio shows.
