Global Warming Hits Russia

As we watch food prices rise, Americans should consider what Dmitry Medvedev said when he banned grain exports from Russia because the worst heat wave in their history has devastated their wheat crop:

"Everyone is talking about climate change now. Unfortunately, what is happening now in our central regions is evidence of this global climate change, because we have never in our history faced such weather conditions in the past."

If we do not control climate change, the same sort of devastation will become a habitual feature of agriculture in the American mid-west and in much of the world.
